I was not very happy with my alarm this morning but I obeyed it anyway. After tending to my dogs needs ( letting them out, and feeding them) I had my coffee and looked up something to listen to on my run. Since I finished my audio book and I haven’t found another quite yet I was looking up podcasts. I cam across one on running nutrition and gave it a try this morning.
I ran 4 HUMID and slightly hilly miles in 40:08 with an average pace of 10:02.
While I was listening to the podcast I started thinking about my current running nutrition and made some mental notes on things I should do to improve it. I also would LOVE if you had any podcast suggestions for me on any topic… I liked the one I listened to today but I didn’t LOVE IT. I used to listen to Jillian Michaels all the time years ago, maybe i’ll have to give some of her new ones a try.
Another thing I was thinking about was stream lining my pre race dinner, meaning I need to start getting on that as my pre long run dinner. I have always done this with my breakfast before long runs and races but I never focused on the night before all that much. I figure now is as good a time as any. I know everyones body is different in what they like and need but do you have a favorite dinner before a race? My sister brought the topic up when I was visiting last weekend because she was going to look for a restaurant in Philadelphia where we could both get the meal we need. SUGGESTIONS WELCOME.
