This morning I set a personal distance record, which I will probably do almost every week until my marathon in November! It was the most GORGEOUS morning, cooler and around 57 degrees, sun shining. I woke up early, drank coffee, ate peanut butter on an Ezekiel wrap and headed for the trail.
I broke my run up into 4 sections to keep my mind at ease. Every 3.5 miles I was 1/4 closer to finishing! At miles 5 and 10 I ate 3 honey stingers and sipped on watered down Gatorade in my camelbak the whole time. This was actually amazing, usually I get nauseous on long runs until I drink some electrolytes after and this time my stomach felt awesome! Hooorraayyyyy for watered down Gatorade!
Half way point:
It wasn’t until the last 3 miles where by body started feeling tired. Not excessively but that’s when I began to feel the distance. When I finished I was thrilled and felt amazing!
When I got home I went right to the shower, made a protein recovery smoothie ( frozen banana, frozen cherries, almond milk, flax oil, Vega Sport protein Powder) and put on my 110% compression ice socks.
I think I took a nap at some point. I went out with my sister in law to grab chai lattes and then I laid around a bit more. I planned on mowing the lawn but our mower is acting up!
Scott and I decided to go out to dinner. Since I got a 10$ gift card for PF Chang’s in the race swag bag last weekend we decided to use it!
We shared vegetable dumplings
I ordered a Coconut Lemon Sour which is SO AWESOME (coconut Vodka, Coconut water, lemon juice and sugar!)
I ordered the coconut curry vegetables which I always get there, so yummy! LOVE THE TOFU!
Scott ordered the sweet and sour chicken
We ran some errands after dinner and now i’m kicked back in my sweatpants about to watch World War Z! HOORAY FOR LAZINESS
